About Robertsbridge branch

Freeman Forman's Robertsbridge office is situated on the High Street, near Senlac Vets and Judges Bakery. Freeman Forman has been in the village for many years and prides itself on its long-standing presence and extensive local knowledge, with Matthew, Jamil and Carl making up the friendly team. Robertsbridge is a thriving community with a welcoming village feel and plenty to do. There are many societies and clubs, as well as an active bonfire society that hosts its annual bonfire in mid-November each year, a popular local event. There is also a Christmas Capers event where shops and homes open throughout the evening to offer festive activities, alongside a Christmas procession through the High Street. The High Street offers a variety of shops including a Post Office, pharmacy, artisan coffee shop and convenience stores. There is also an excellent selection of pubs within the village and surrounding areas. The area supports several well-regarded state and private schools. The village of Robertsbridge is thought to date back to 1176, when a Cistercian abbey was founded by Abbot Robert De St Martin. The name Robertsbridge was first used in 1198 when Richard I granted a market charter. Although the abbey was dissolved in 1538, the village flourished, and many of its oldest houses date back to the 14th and 15th centuries. The characterful High Street boasts a collection of attractive historic houses and cottages.
